AEA

The AEA (European Association of Hearing Aid Professionals) is an association of national professional organisations representing more than 40.000 hearing aid professionals from 14 countries across Europe.

AEA strives to improve the quality of hearing care services, ensure a transparent, fair and competitive market, and safeguard freedom of choice in the interest of the end-user.

Hearing Care has 3 main pillars:

  1. Prevention: We support the main objective of the “Make Listening Safe initiative of The World Health Organisation” and are committed to create a world where nobody’s hearing is put in danger due to unsafe listening
  2. Awareness: We strive for national hearing screening for the new born (neo-natal, paediatric), schoolchildren, professionals at risk, all adults from the age of 50, as recommended by the World Health Intervention.
  3. Intervention: Timely and appropriate hearing care, which includes, hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive technology, tinnitus management and auditory rehabilitation.

AEA is an active member of the WHO World Hearing Forum.
