eargym

eargym emerged from Zinc.vc's Mission 3: building businesses that can improve quality of later life for 100 million older people.  Co-founders Amanda Philpott and Andy Shanks are an ex-NHS CEO/population health specialist and a retired DJ/digital products specialist, and they're backed by a great team and Board or renowned advisors.  They're hugely motivated to address the massive and serious problem of the correlation between hearing loss and dementia, informed by their own experiences of living with moderate hearing loss, and also the impact of dementia in their ageing parents.  eargym's approach is to making hearing care aspirational and accessible through enjoyable immersive auditory testing and training via your own smartphones and headphones.  They worked with SciAni to develop a simple 90 second explainer video which can be found on the front page of their website here.
