Thomson Screening’s software helps ensure no child’s healthcare, learning or social development are affected by unidentified hearing or vision problems. 

The company’s SchoolScreener Vision and Hearing software are widely used by NHS staff at Reception age, and its sister product, SchoolScreener for Schools is for use by school staff with no clinical knowledge, to quickly check children’s hearing and vision from age seven. 

These applications were developed under the clinical leadership of Dr. Sebastian Hendricks, Consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital in Paediatric Audiovestibular Medicine, and Professor David Thomson, for 25 years Head of Department at City, University of London’s Department of Optometry and Life Fellow of The College of Optometry. 

Founded in 2011 by City, University of London, today, Thomson Screening’s applications address healthcare, education and workplace needs around the world with the software managing over 3 million screenings to date. Customers include the NHS in the UK, non-profit organisations in the USA and NGOs in developing countries.
